An exciting opportunity for an Energy Market Analyst to join one of Europe's leading Energy trading Companies based in Central London. The Energy Market Analyst will provide analytical support and develop trading strategies within the Gas trading teams.
Role Requirements:
*Develop and maintain market forecasting models. This covers fundamental, quantitative and optimisation models as used by the Analyst teams and trading teams.
*Develop and maintain views on the gas market fundamentals and the interaction with related energy commodities.
*Propose new ideas to give the trading desks a competitive advantage in terms of gas market analysis or to identify new profitable business opportunities.
*Interact with analysts across the various trading desks to enhance the understanding of cross commodity relations.
Candidate Profile:
*The successful candidate should have good knowledge of gas market fundamentals
*Educated to degree standard in a Mathematical or Economic discipline.
*The candidate will be numerate, analytical and work to deadlines.
*Proficiency in Excel and news service terminals like Reuters or Bloomberg is essential.
*Previous experience and exposure in similar role covering energy market fundamentals is essential.
*The candidate should be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and be an excellent team player.
