My client is a central government department who require a Health and Safety specialist with experience working with or in the Fire and rescue service or other emergency services. Occasional travel in the UK will be required.
Carry out initial generic risk analysis and risk assessment of the high level technical guidance documents & feed back to working groups to inform further development Carry out full generic risk assessment of the suite of guidance documents, detailed working processes, and equipment being provided, with the Health & Safety consultative group (Representative bodies such as unions). Provide ongoing guidance and advice on health & safety matters to the Regional Control Centre employers.
Skills and Experience; Significant experience within the Fire & Rescue service or other emergency service to understand how the service handles Health and Safety matters (essential) Specific current and extensive Health & Safety experience and expertise, particularly in carrying out risk assessments; Qualification in Health & Safety Management. On-the-job practical implementation of the learning. Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma Part 2 or equivalent) Significant knowledge and experience in dealing with representative bodies in a robust fashion Excellent communication skills including inter-personal, influencing, facilitation and presentation skills
