IB Tech - EMEA Cash Equities Front Office Business Analyst Lead - VP - based London 
 
The Role
Working as part of JP Morgan's Central Business Analysis Team (CBAT) the candidate will be responsible for the delivery of business analysis for 'Cash Equities' front office, facing off to the single stock business.  The role will focus on care trading and the set of related systems used globally across equities including: management systems, market connectivity, algorithmic trading platforms, market data analytics and customer connectivity. 
 
Reporting to the EMEA Regional Lead the candidate will be required to work closely with the middle office BAs to ensure end to end coverage.
 
BA Goals
  • Apply and leverage standards and best practices for delivery across regions and products
  • Promote an 'end to end' global focus; break down business workflow and technology silos across regions and products
  • Improve service quality with project delivery teams
  • Provide accountability and communication to the project delivery teams
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Team Lead for Strategic Sales Order Management Business Analysis team
  • Work closely with project managers, lead developers and business users to initiate a project and define requests
  • Contribute estimates for BA deliverables to the project planning phase
  • Interview business users, subject matter experts and technology resources to elicit requirements
  • Analyse gathered requirements and create business and functional specifications
  • Communicate requirements to the key stakeholders, developers, QA and production support
  • Participate in design reviews/gap analyses
  • Report progress to BA lead and project managers on a regular basis
  • Create user documentation such as user guides, quick reference guides and release notes
  • Provide training to key users and transition knowledge to production support
Experience
  • Experience of leading a small team
  • A proven track record as a business analyst supporting cash equities
  • Detailed understanding of global order routing and the Sales and Trading businesses in particular cash equities
  • Exposure to FIX and experience with FIX messaging
  • Background in IT within investment banking

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders across Technology, Operations and the Business
  • Strong communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a highly pressurized environment
  • The candidate must be self motivated and pro-active.  They must be able to manage their own workload to comply with timescales and scope as agreed
  • Good team player
 
Desirable Skills
  • Experience of the Fidessa order and trade management suite
  • Familiarity with middle office flows
  • Knowledge of a recognised structured methodology
  • Exposure to different business areas such as Fixed Income, Derivatives, Risk Management and Back office functions
 
The person
  • Preferably degree educated - business or IT based - although this is not a pre-requisite
Initial Focus
Projects in the pipeline include - A full replacement of the existing order management system across all regions - EMEA, NA and Asia, support for cross order border flows including ADRs, retirement of GL for Cash Equities, rollout of new trading software for South Africa and Moscow; and mandatory exchange upgrades,
