- The Senior 3rd Line Systems Support Analyst/Infrastructure Support Analyst/3 rd Line Support Engineer/Technical Specialist is a point of specialist technical escalation within the
- IT Infrastructure team responsible for technical administrative support of the IT Infrastructure environment including hardware such as Servers and connected equipment, advanced software support and specialist technical issues.
- The IT Infrastructure team primarily work on business assigned IT projects for implementations, improvements; and the business as usual technical administration of the IT Infrastructure environment.
- Reporting to the IT management team this role is a senior technical position with no man management responsibilities and would best suit a proven highly technically skilled and qualified IT professional.
Key Responsibilities and Duties of the successful Senior 3rd Line Systems Support Analyst/Infrastructure Support Analyst/3 rd Line Support Engineer/Technical Specialist: - Responsible for the provision of high quality IT Infrastructure operational service in line with business requirements.
- To provide high quality support and service within a 3rd line capacity to all business customers and IT Infrastructure
- Working within a timely manner and in accordance to the IT Support Desk's policy and procedures manual this role requires the resolution or escalation (both internal and external) of these calls
- Maintaining effective and efficient IT Infrastructure maintenance contracts/agreements.eg
- Server hardware maintenance contracts with 3rd parties. Informing IT Management in a timely manner of any end of support/contract agreement(s) and suggesting appropriate solution such as whether to renew agreement, replace infrastructure or allow infrastructure agreement to expire
- Maintaining a centralised database of all IT Infrastructure assets within an IT Management approved system
- Keeping a secure and up-to-date record of all IT Infrastructure UK/IE access control credentials within an IT Management approved system
- Keeping an accurate and up to date centralised documentation system comprising of any IT
- Infrastructure architecture, build and maintenance for the IT Infrastructure Estate
- Active Directory technical management for the UK/IE region
- Joining the Global Alliances team as a Technical team member, working with colleagues in different geographical regions, acting as a technical strategist for the Global AD environment, corporate emailing; and any other Global Application initiatives
- VM wareESX infrastructure technical administration
- Storage Area Networking technical administration, ideally with sound knowledge of Equallogic SAN's
- Server Infrastructure design/implementation and technical administration (Windowsserver 2003/2008)
- Exchange infrastructure technical administration (Exchange 2003/2007)
- Citrix PS4 infrastructure technical administration
- Technical administration and proactive monitoring of Symantec Endpoint Antivirus. Ensuring the ICT Infrastructure Server and Personal Computer/Laptop estate is up-to-datewith anti-virus definition
- Technical administration of Remote Installation Services
- Proactive technical administration of any IT Security appliances/applications or services within the remit of the IT Infrastructure team
- Technical management of the Company's Backup and Restoration IT Infrastructure ensuring
- the IT Infrastructure is backed up in accordance with company requirements. Adhereto IT Backup Strategy documentation. Performing test restorations from backup media to test integrity of backup environment
- Provision of IT Infrastructure that is aligned with any IT Infrastructure Security Best
- Practices.Ensure IT Infrastructure is protected against internal or external unauthorised penetration/access. Adhere to any relevant third-party, such as Microsoft, Enterprise Security
- Best Practice white papers/recommendations etc.
- Proactive IT Availability, Performance Monitoring and Capacity Management. Following IT
- Best Practice Methodology
- Being an effective member of Project Teams both regional and global, providing avalued contribution to successful project implementation
- Involvement with potential future IT UK/IE projects, such as: VMware VDI design/implementation
- Migration to Global Active Directory Domain
- Decommission of Exchange 2003 environment, post successful 2007 migration
- Data backup/email archiving solution
- Pro-actively resolve technical issues or make detailed proposals to the IT management team for IT Infrastructure operational improvement
Essential skills required for the position of Senior 3rd Line Systems Support Analyst/Infrastructure Support Analyst/3 rd Line Support Engineer/Technical Specialist - Proven Working Experience required for this role includes;
- Must be MCSE or current equivalent
- Advanced Active Directory Administration
- Advanced Exchange 2003 and 2007 administration
- An advanced working knowledge of VMware ESX environment. VCP qualification preferable
- Symantec Backup software
- Must have technically strong Microsoft background and be up to date on current and emerging Microsoft technologies
- Technically Strong understanding of networking components
- A good all round knowledge of ICT Infrastructure services and technologies
- Adhere to any policies and procedures as set by the company/department
Desired skills required for the position of Senior 3rd Line Systems Support Analyst/Infrastructure Support Analyst/3 rd Line Support Engineer/Technical Specialist - Equallogic Storage Area Networking (SAN) Administration
- IT Best Practice Methodology such as ITIL standards and procedures
