| This position consists largely of supporting the company hardware and software. The job holder will be expected to develop an interest and skills in the support of various software products adopted by the company.
Key tasks - liaising with the Systems Manager on faults, processing production schedules to company procedures, providing general support to departments and external companies,creating, maintaining and running automated desktop processes, ensuring adequate virus protection at all times for all data transfers to and from the network, responsibility for the maintanance of all equipment, systems and user software, providing general support for communications hardware, providing initial diagnosis and where possible repair of faults within agreed timescales, operating the live computer and providing training to other members of the systems team. The posistion will also involve maintaining technical documentation and information and creating departmental procedures. Applicants should be aware of the importance of confidentiality. The role will require the person to work shifts including weekends and on emergency call-out when requested. |
