Our client works with some of the UK’s most respected and dynamic academia organisations to deliver their telecommunication needs. With a live next-generation network carrying converged IP-based services today, it now has the strength both to maximise the depth of its existing relationships whilst attracting new customers and enriching the services it provides.

To further their development in the General, Industrial and Emergency Services sector they now need to expand this specialist team and recruit an experienced Account Manager to manage & develop the relationships of a group of named accounts within Scotland, Manchester and the South of England. The main function of the role will be to maximise the revenues, margins and depth of relationship in these accounts. In addition the development of new relationships within the sector will be a key objective.

These are account development roles where the role holder will manage a set number of customers (4/5) with a combined revenue spend of between £5 - £15 million. The main focus is to retain that revenue spend and maximise future growth by following a strategic selling process.

The role:

The main focus will be seeking and promoting new business opportunities, managing the contractual and commercial terms, promoting margin expansion and the position of the company as a quality provider of telecommunications services in line with the business plan. Your ability to develop customer relationships so that they provide a high degree of certainty of future revenue growth will be a key measure of success. You will be at the forefront of the tactical delivery of the Client Director’s strategic business plan based around meeting targets and objectives for your customers; managing the performance and delivery to your customers; and ensuring compliance with all company policies.

What you’ll need:
* Proven ability to operate within contractual and commercial terms, in a manner which reduces risk, maximises revenue, promotes margin expansion and positions the company as a quality provider of telecommunications services in line with the company business plan.
* Track record of maintaining existing and developing new significant customer relationships and attracting new business opportunities.
* Extensive experience of sales within the IT / Telecommunications industry.
* Broad understanding of the core technologies that underpin modern next generation services.
* Proven ability of account plan development and delivery.
* A demonstrable solution led methodology approach to sales.
* Strong leadership skills around managing virtual teams.
* Exceptional organisational and communication skills, along with personal tenacity and the ability to drive things through to conclusion in a dynamic and challenging environment.
* Excellent presentation skills and the ability to use the companies Strategy and Vision in any given situation to best effect.

The successful candidate must have experience of managing corporate or public sector customers and demonstrate proven corporate account development experience. You must be able to follow a consultative selling process and possess a background in Network / Telecom / ICT sales.
