£25,000 - £35,000 + 15% Shift Allowance

Our client is a subsidiary the largest provider of telecommunications, Internet and mobile services in Japan and one of the world’s largest organisations. They now need a Customer Support Engineer to join their team.

The Customer Support Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day support of our client’s Online Enterprise Hosting customers, using their high level of technical skills and showing a clear commitment to customer satisfaction.

The Customer Support Engineer will:

- Provide Support for the company’s customer base via telephone and email
- Support, maintain, and improve customer services
- Provide accurate and timely diagnosis and rectification of customer faults
- Resolve or escalate problems and service requests according to established procedures
- Work proactively to ensure prompt resolution of support cases and the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction

To excel as the Customer Service Engineer, you will demonstrate technical skills in the following areas:

- Microsoft Windows Server *****(Standard and Advanced Servers)
- Linux (preferably Redhat Enterprise and Debian)
- Solaris
- Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
- Apache
- DNS
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and server load balancing
- Working knowledge of Netbackup

Experienced in offering server/network support to customers, you will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline, or possess relevant industry experience.

It would be advantageous to our client if you possessed the following skills/experience (though not essential):

- Microsoft Windows Server *****
- Experience with Nokia’s IPSO and Check Point products
- Networking experience
- Exposure to IBM server, Sun Server, Alteon load balancers and NetApps product ranges

This is an office based role; however some site work may be required.
