They are looking to recruit a Linux Systems Administrator. Essential skills * Linux Systems administration * Knowledge of Samba & Apache * Configuration and administration of linux web servers * Server performance and availability monitoring * TCP/IP networks including LAN and WAN technologies and load balancing * Resin, MySQL and Nagios administration * DNS server management Advantageous * Firewall configuration (preferably Cisco/Zeus), VPN’s and routing. * Knowledge of Coldfusion and Java server support * Virus protection and intrusion detection * Windows Server *****+ XP Desktop. * Management of SQL (2k & *****) Server * Configuration and administration of email servers (Strongmail, MDaemon, Exchange) If you have previous solid hands-on experience of Linux-based web systems administration and infrastructure management, and want to grow with a rapidly growing worldwide internet company, this is the job for you! They have a service-oriented architecture with a core Java application running on a Linux cluster in Europe. They also run 15 European websites on a Windows-based Coldfusion application with a SQL Server back-end. They have a competent, ambitious and enthusiastic global team based in both London and Austin, Texas. Worldwide, the team is responsible for the platform behind 20 leading global consumer web sites. They need a flexible, personable self-starter and team player with proven experience of Linux system administration who is able to take on the responsibility of successfully operating the growing infrastructure their business depends on. You will join a team of 3, reporting to the European Systems Manager, who takes responsibility for the uninterrupted running of their externally-hosted Windows and Linux web infrastructure. Responsibilities * Management and administration of their staging and production Linux environments * Growing the web infrastructure to meet capacity plans * Pro-active monitoring of systems & hardware for fault & error alerts * Out of hours “on call” support on a rotation basis * Responsibility for security, backups, DoS protection etc To apply for this role, please simply send your CV and a covering letter via the button shown.
