London, Finchley (North London, N12) £18,000 + Overtime payments, 20 days’ holiday Shift Based - 3 or 4 x 12 hour shifts per week A provider of a wide range of telecommunications services needs an Operations Engineer/IT Support Engineer. This is an exciting time to join the business as it embarks on a period of expansion and starts to undertake a series of acquisitions in the UK. You will be a very enthusiastic and flexible person and you will work towards ensuring the normal and uninterrupted operation of the systems. The candidate will have knowledge of at least 3 of the following: * Telecoms switching (Telsis preferred) * Microsoft Active Directory * Systems Management Server * MS Windows *****, *****, Windows XP * Back up procedures * MS SQL Server ( *****and above) and report generation * Linux platforms As Operations Engineer/IT Support Engineer you will have previous experience in IT Support (or similar) and have a: * Good knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and of all Microsoft Software Applications and Products * Good understanding of Server equipment * Good hardware and software support knowledge * Good customer service skills * Relevant IT Honours degree (preferable) As Operations Engineer/IT Support Engineer you will: * Maintain the company’s internal & external networks & connectivity * Ensure uninterrupted services to both business and residential clients * Troubleshoot problems and faults both for clients and internal IT infrastructure * Provide 1st and 2nd line support * Ensure regular data backup * Provide Voice and data switch administration * Provide system monitoring and data MCP, MCSE qualifications are desirable.
