London, Putney SW15 £29,000 - £37,000 plus benefits depending on experience Our client is looking to recruit a Senior OO PHP Developer. You will be joining a rapidly growing and successful software company who specialise in LAMP and .NET development. Your role will be that of Senior LAMP developer working under the direction of their systems architect and the Technical Director. Primary responsibilities will include mentoring junior programmers, the further development and implementation of their feature rich content management, ecommerce and workflow framework and bespoke development in conjunction with their GUI designers. A keen eye for usability and the ergonomics of a system are as important as a mind for innovation and the ability to work effectively in a team. This is very much a hands-on role. You will be immediately exposed to multiple technologies (from PHP to Python, web services to SQL and Java to XSLT) and will expected to actively input your ideas both on the enhancement of existing technologies and on bespoke developments. You will be working in a vibrant office environment where developing first class solutions in an enjoyable atmosphere is far more important than a suit and tie. Human skills are very important and you should enjoy working in a team environment, cope well with pressure, and have a genuine enthusiasm for IT, together with a "can do" attitude. You will need to manage and prioritise a varied workload and enjoy a customer-focused development role in a constantly changing environment. Their client list ranges from start-ups to blue chips and their focus is on providing excellent solutions that fulfil their client’s business requirements and exceed their expectations. Experience and understanding of the issues involved in feature rich, content heavy, ecommerce and content management systems development and integration is highly beneficial. You will have deep understanding of OO programming, solid experience of PHP5 with strong, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XHTML, XML, XSLT and AJAX and one of Java, .Net or C++. Ideally holding a good degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline, you will have at least some team based software development experience as well as database design and development experience.
