London up to £40,000 + private medical, dental, travel insurance, 25 days’ holiday, non-contributory pension, annual bonus Our client is a global player in the IT Services sector: their services keep people and information connected, from proactive business continuity through reactive disaster recovery to interactive high availability solutions, thereby helping over 10,000 clients worldwide have uninterrupted access to their business-critical information systems. They are looking to recruit a Server Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall design, deployment, evolution and continuous improvement of the MIS IT server environment. Ensuring new services and solutions fit the global architecture & are consistent with the company standards and policies. Working with inter departmental teams (TSG, MiTS, Product) to ensure best practice and methodology. Support the department in implementing ITIL best practice procedures. Your key tasks will include: * Ensuring optimal performance, security, support and availability across the LAN/WAN. * Implement new SAN/VMWare environment & decommission migrated servers. * Assist with day to day support and management of servers & supporting applications. * Ensure Business Continuity of the environment, including testing & development. * Provide support to the non MIS application owners within defined SLA’s. * Provide expert technical assistance & support to the MIS department to ensure delivery of Managed Applications, including Lotus Domino, Peoplesoft, Altiris etc. * Complying with all Company policies, and all MIS and Helpdesk policies for closure of Work Orders. * Responsible for generating technical documentation and diagrams and ensuring they are current. The ideal candidate will be educated to GSCE level or equivalent and an ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management is desirable. Experience of MCSE, MCSA, MCP, CCNA, DBA is also desirable. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of vendor specific equipment and systems with proven competence in hardware & services. Strong work ethic and highly motivated * Strong customer service & training skills, takes responsibility and recognises/cares about a customer’s ability to be productive. * Excellent communicator to the user and the team, communicating at technical and non technical levels.
