London, Central London WC2 £25,000 - £35,000 + 25 days' annual leave + flexitime policy Working closely with a range of clients, from local authorities to charities to NGOs, our client has learned what such organisations need from their web communications. They've worked to develop the necessary software which they continue to build upon and refine. They are currently looking to recruit a Web Developer. The role entails hands on, day to day programming of websites and working with project managers to produce accurate time estimates for tasks. Essential requirements of the role will require the following of the successful candidate: - An excellent command of ASP, VB, Microsoft SQL Server, XML, XSLT, XHTML, JavaScript, IIS. - Some previous experience working on web based applications. - Good communication skills - both written and verbal. - Experience of developing .NET web applications. - Practical experience of OOD. - Good understanding of database design. - Good understanding and working knowledge of security issues specifically relating to the Internet. - Commitment to co-operative environment. - Flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure, producing high quality output to tight deadlines. - Excellent problem solving skills. - Good time management skills and a proven ability in prioritising tasks. In addition, candidates with the following desirable requirements are particularly welcomed: - Use of development tools - Visual Studio, VSS. - Experience of Web services - XML-RFC, SOAP, WSDL. - Experience of system integration. - Experience with UML. - Microsoft developer certification. - Wide general knowledge of Internet and IT. - Good understanding of accessibility issues the impact of the Disability Discrimination Act on website design.
