| Our client, a dynamic well-established, one of the leading providers of specialist mailing services company is seeking a competent and experienced Senior Application Programming Manager to handle database applications representing clients whose business is driven by technology.
The postholder will also be responsible for many day-to-day activities such as designing and setting up the databases; responsibility for updating these databases; and the production of reports. The major part of the job involves receiving data from a third party and processing that data to drive the in-house laser-printers using standard in-house developed software packages. Applicants must have high level knowledge of: Pres; Fortran; C and Visual basic with working knowledge of MS Office Applications including Microsoft Access and/or Foxpro. Experience of working within a similar capacity and a similar environment would be advantageous, and all applicants should have excellent communication skills and a “can do” approach. You must be able to work under pressure and to very tight deadlines though there may be an occassional need to work long days into the evening at very short notice, so candidates must be flexible.
