| A central London university is looking for an experienced IT Professional to project manage the delivery of its new IT strategy, negotiating with the client and writing sound business cases for future work.
The post is fixed-term and available for 2 years. The post holder will be charged with managing the University's IT strategy, keeping it inline with the IT budget and reviewing and updating it as necessary as the business plan develops. He/she will write sound business cases for future work and will also assist the IT Manager with business opportunities. Key Duties: - To manage the delivery of the University's IT strategy and keep it updated in line with the IT budget; - To consolidate aging servers into a centralised suite of servers - To deliver Wireless solutions to many of the Institutions; - To review the need for a Thin Client solution to the University; - To make the University’s Network open for public access, ensuring security is not breached, and to take full responsibility for meeting agreed service levels; - To keep track of market trends and new solutions that can be delivered to the University; - To manage the implementation of the IT strategy projects (plans, risks, costs etc); - To document and update procedures and to ensure change processes are adhered to; - To recommend changes to improve the service to our users; - Any other duties consistent with both the grade and scope of the post; and - Any other duties reasonably required of the postholder by the Head of Delivery; Infrastructure Services following consultation. Key Skills - In-depth Knowledge of Windows NT/XP and *****; - In-depth knowledge of Microsoft professional *****/3; - Good knowledge of installing & administering Microsoft Windows *****& XP professional; - Good knowledge of installing and administering Microsoft Windows *****server; - Good knowledge and experience of implementing and administering a Microsoft Windows *****Network infrastructure; - Good knowledge and experience of implementing and administering a Microsoft Windows directory services infrastructure. Desirable technical knowledge - Designing a secure Microsoft *****network; - Implement & administration of Microsoft *****exchange. |
