| The Investment Analysis department are responsible for the technical content – both written and statistical – of company marketing and performance reporting materials supplied to more than 40,000 clients globally. This involves analysing the movements of financial markets, the returns of hedge funds and the production of qualitative and quantitative performance information.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will join the Performance Reporting unit within Investment Analysis. The core function of this role is to research and produce reports for our private clients and institutional clients globally. These reports provide an explanation of the effect of market movements on the performance of our product range, include statistical information and also accommodate the increasing demands for transparency from our institutional investors. The majority of these reports are produced on a monthly and a quarterly basis, but the team also have responsibility for producing market/strategy commentary which is incorporated into annual reports and accounts and company newsletters, and the preparation of ‘flash’ reports in times of significant performance movements. Training will involve learning to contribute to the production of all of the above as well as organising the various reporting processes from start to finish and learning to operate the in-house reporting software systems. A clear interest in the financial markets and solid organisation skills are essential to the role. Previous work experience in the production of investment management client reporting and/or performance analysis is advantageous. Equally important are strong communication skills as the team work closely with many other departments within the business in various locations, as well as our external managers, in order to gather the information necessary to carry out the reporting function. Requirements Educated to at least graduate level in a numerate or business/economic related discipline Effective writing and research skills Demonstrates creative ability yet high attention to detail Able to manage own workload and take responsibility for tasks Resilient to pressure Able to work effectively within a team Eager to develop within this role Ideally 1-2 years experience in a financial institution |
