Central London EC2 £46,000 - £52,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Our client is a fast growing top 20, City-based firm of Chartered Accountants. Following a continued growth curve, the Audit Team is in the position to recruit an Audit Manager who will take the lead role on a variety of medium-large sized clients from a diverse range of sectors with a strong leaning towards AIM listed and FSA regulated companies and large international groups. There will also be numerous ad hoc Corporate Finance assignments, due diligence, investment planning etc. The Audit Manager will assume a managerial role with an allocated portfolio of varied clients. A typical portfolio will comprise private and public audit clients, both UK and International groups with turnover up to £100m, with no rigidly defined association with an industry or sector. Experience of property, manufacturing, chemicals, printing or the public sector would be beneficial. As noted above, there will be opportunities to work on ad hoc corporate finance assignments, particularly due diligence and initial public offerings on AIM. The Audit Manager will: - Plan and manage assignments effectively and within the agreed timetable - Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements - Deliver assurance services in accordance with the principles of the Client Service Framework - Manage key client relationships and expectations - Monitor budgets and agree fees for each engagement - Responsible for managing audit teams on various assignments - Motivating, developing and coaching the audit team and conducting evaluations of staff performance - Assist in the production of proposals and presentations for new work - Develop network of contacts and cross-sell services As the Audit Manager you must possess a professional qualification - ACA / ACCA, with a good exam record, and be educated to degree level (or equivalent). You must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques and have the ability to make judgements. Up to date with current technical accounting issues, you must have technical and industry sector expertise, with experience of taking responsibility for performance appraisal and development. With your evidence of being proactive in identifying and driving forward initiatives which have made a difference either internally and/or externally to clients, you must also demonstrate industry skill through the knowledge of current business drivers and the accounting issues which relate to that sector. You will also have experience of due diligence and handling of ad hoc special assignments. It would be beneficial to our client if you have experience with clients or knowledge of US GAAP, though this is not essential.
