| An accountant is required by a small City-based consultancy to work on a portfolio of financial services clients. You will be required to produce financial and management accounts, prepare VAT & FSA returns, assist with budgeting and cash forecasting together with ad-hoc accounting duties. This will necessitate working at clients' premises sited throughout Central London, as well as our base in the City.
The company will assist you with Financial aid and study leave. Initially, you will be working with a partner on each assignment but there will be opportunity to develop your own group of clients when you have consolidated your experience in the range of specialist accounting services we provide to our clients. Job Responsibilities Maintenance of client and internal accounting records Accounts payable Managing of cash balances Preparation of monthly management accounts Monthly or quarterly regulatory FSA & VAT reporting Statutory reporting Budgeting and forecasting Input of expense invoices & travel expenses to Sage Raising of revenue invoices and input to Sage Bank reconciliations Preparation and reconciliation of VAT returns Maintaining regulatory compliance procedures in accordance with FSA requirements Qualification & skills required You should be qualified or part qualified with experience gained in a professional firm or with small or medium sized companies. Financial services experience would be an advantage. You should be confident in your ability to work directly with clients but also be prepared to work as part of a team and assist your colleagues as necessary. Computer Literacy Good Microsoft Office and Excel skills required, knowledge of accounting package experience, particularly Sage essential. Personal qualities Confident, well spoken, professional appearance A well-organised methodical approach to work Strong written and verbal communication skills Good organisation and interpersonal skills Confident in your ability to work directly with clients Ability and desire to work in a small but highly focused team environment |
