Central London £30,000 - £35,000 + Pension + Excellent Benefits With annual revenue of $4 billion, our client is a global leader in software and processing solutions for financial services, higher education and the public sector. They serve more than 25,000 customers in more than 50 countries, including the world's 50 largest financial services companies. They are now looking for a Financial Accountant. As a member of the accounting team, using the Sun Accounts and Vision Excel systems, the Financial Accountant will provide timely and accurate information to the US parent company, internal management and relevant regulatory authorities. The successful candidate will make a strong contribution both on a team and an individual level, and will be able to demonstrate their adaptability in a constantly changing environment. As the Financial Accountant you will provide some or all of the following accounting services, or other similar services, to various company business units in Europe: - Payroll Accounting - Inter-company Accounting - General Accounting - Fixed Asset Accounting Specifically you will be responsible for the following: - Posting various journal entries (e.g. accruals, deferred income, bad debt provisions, depreciation, amortization, prepayments, payroll) - Preparing and maintaining ledger files that include the monthly analysis of all balance sheet accounts and a trend analysis of all profit and loss accounts - Reconcile and settle inter-company accounts - Assist with Sarbanes Oxley testing - Comply with all relevant corporate finance policies and Sarbanes Oxley controls As a Financial Accountant you will ideally be ACA or ACCA part qualified (or equivalent), and will possess good accounting experience. This experience must include the processing of inter-company and multi-currency transactions. Previous exposure to a complex corporate structure would be a great advantage. You must have at least an intermediate level of competence with Excel and a good understanding of all other packages in the Microsoft Office suite. In addition, you will also have previous experience of using Accounting Databases on a daily basis. With your good communication skills, you will be an accurate worker who can demonstrate attention to detail and strong organisational and time management skills - able to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
