Starting at least by the end of January *****for a 1 year contract covering maternity leave. The company are interviewing on the 16th December *****so early applications are essential.

We are seeking an experienced person with Website design/ Management but also good editorial experience for this leading City based company.

The main points to describe the job are as follows:

Overview of Job

an• Manage the company's Internet, Intranet and Content Management System (CMS)
an• Write new / revise old content for the web
an• Update CMS with text from other an‘departmentsan’
an• Support other department CMS users
an• Manage small development / design projects
an• Emergency Management
an• Manage external agencies

Personal Requirements

an• Strong writing and editorial skills
an• Experience of writing for business websites (not simply a home computer site)
an• Experience of working with a Content Management System
an• Understanding of html
an• Capable of working on their own (although guided by HoM as to requirements)
an• Project Management experience preferable but not essential
an• A good understanding of and experience in delivering services in a customer focused environment
an• Brand awareness / style consistency


Specifics of Job

an• Manage CMS / Website
an• Continue strategic direction of site. Manage the overall content of the site / ensure consistent style
an• Maintain close liaison with web authors (from other an‘departmentsan’) to ensure awareness of, and compliance with best practice and procedures
an• Manage any changes to design and functionality (technical changes must be approved by IS)
an• Report faults to MSO, test fixes (installation managed by IS)

an• Write new / revise old content for the web
an• Keep "What's Happening" up to date with appropriate content relating to throughput of company's Promotion
an• Re-write text of sitean’s various home pages (but not index page)
an• Write Environmental Section with Nicola (New Module required in *****)
an• Re-write The company's Corporate Statutory Responsibilities ) Not revised
an• Re-write Commercial Services section since site was
an• Re-write Leisure History section (not essential) ) first launched

an• Update CMS with text from other departments / organisations
an• The company's newspaper - every 2 months
an• Press Releases (from Martin Garside)
an• Community Press Releases
an• Company's News and Classifieds
an• Annual Review and Accounts (Will need to be placed on site in Spring)
an• Promote trade shows (from Promotion)
an• Any other changes an… (New Revision Order etc.)

an• Support other CMS users within the company
an• Approve and authorise new content for the web.
an• Help CMS users with style issues and upload problems

an• Manage small development / design projects
an• Rital touch-screen displays handbook launch / reception / trade shows
an• Minor design / functionality changes as requested by HOM and Marine Administration (most likely company an‘departments will ask for changes)
an• Environmental Section
an• Launch of Handbook onto site (March)
an• Manage release / promotion of an‘Connections Atlasan’ (development of this should have been completed by Sophie before she goes)
an• Manage release / promotion of Leisure Map (development of this should have been completed before she goes)
an• Manage branding changes on website

an• Emergency Management
an• In the event of an emergency situation occurring, manage
an• Release of information to the website
an• Activate emergency site if necessary
an• Support HOM and PPRM throughout the duration of the emergency

an• Manage external agencies an– Work and Liaise with IS
an• Project Manager for both Design (Futura) and Technical (MSO) agencies
an• Writing of specification (Technical changes approved by IS)
an• Manage project development
an• Testing (Installation managed by IS)
an• Module release date

an• Other
an• Accessibility issues that may arise
an• Authorise media and press access (as authorised by PPRM)
an• website budget (as authorised by HoM)
an• Handling Web enquiries
an• Mailing list enquires
an• Approve domain name renewal
an• Site Statistics
