| The Fixed Income Controls Team is responsible for acting as a regulation and control mechanism across the whole of Fixed Income operations and is responsible for tracking risk issues, resolution and escalation.
The group covers Fixed Income products that settle through Euroclear, internal controls (intersystem), brokerage and manages the timely resolution of a number of other control processes. The successful candidate will supervise the Controls team and your responsibilities will include: Supervising the daily management of Nostro and Depot reconciliations for external and internal accounts; Building strong relationships with a large number of clients and managing the risk associated with breaks on a daily basis. Additional duties include root cause analysis with recommendations for system or process improvements to senior management, hence strong project management skills are required. The candidate will develop effective working relationships with colleagues within operations and other business areas; provide support to team members and to management in the pursuit of team objectives; ensure appropriate organisational structure for the area of the business; handle personnel-related issues within the parameters of the bank and Operations policy; provide direction and development of direct reports by way of training, objective setting and evaluation; ensure compliance with policies and procedures for activities within the group; manage and control business risks and costs for own area of responsibility. Accuracy and integrity of data is of utmost importance as is the adherence to Stock Exchange and financial markets regulations, compliance and legal requirements. Suitable candidates will have previous knowledge of the settlement of bonds, ideally in Euroclear markets and knowledge of Cash and Depot Reconciliations - plus have a very strong understanding of the various risk issues and controls that need to be in place within a securities environment. |
