Summary of primary role: The data improvement role serves 4 basic functions from within the Equity Indices group. These include project management of stock market reclassifications, general database improvements, validation of historical content and a suite of monthly validation routines to support the existing Equity index production area. Description of Department: The Data Improvement team is a small-dedicated team of 3 analysts working closely with all areas of the Equity Indices database to include the production team, management, editorial and data content. Key Responsibilities: Managing impending stock market reclassifications - this involves liasing with suppliers, improving ingest mechanisms, creation of new series and histories and delivery to clients upon inception General database improvement - this involves project-based workloads aimed at targeting problematic, non-standard areas of the current database. Historical data validation - targeting areas of the historical content that are known as suspect or are highlighted by HEAT/client complaints. Typically involving historical validation and reload of data where applicable. Ownership of monthly validation processes aimed at verifying and improving checking routines over and above those completed within the production area itself. Experience/Skills/Qualifications Essential Desirable Excellent communication skills Working knowledge of MS applications Self motivator mainframe friendly Excel macro knowledge Indices Knowledge Project skills |
