Banking and Finance - Desk Assistant

in London City

Banking experience within Trading environment sought.

As an assistant working within the F&O Front Office, you will perform diverse P.A. responsibilities and administrative functions requiring confidentiality, initiative and sound judgement. You will be responsible for managing the day to day administration for a MD and a large Front Office Sales Team. This will include preparing presentations, co-ordinating travel arrangements, composing routine correspondence, reconciling expenses, organising meetings, diary management and handling all Technology requests for the team.

The individual will also be responsible for maintaining information using global databases and/or spreadsheets and you may be required to gather and analyse data to complete independent assignments.

The role will also give the individual the opportunity to gain business knowledge and experience whilst being involved in various projects and initiatives such as expense management projects, organising conferences and the rollout of the RX system.

Qualifications
Strong PC skills (proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Lotus Notes preferred)
Knowledge of general office procedures (e.g., filing, correspondence, arranging meetings)
Strong and effective interpersonal skills
The ability to build good working relationships and become an integral part of the team
Superior oral and written communication skills
Excellent telephone manner
Advanced ability to organise and manage own time and multi-task when necessary
Tact and good judgement in confidential situations and the ability to interact with senior management
Comfortable dealing with internal and external clients
At least three years of secretarial experience and meeting co-ordination
Ability to handle potentially demanding Front Office Sales and Trading environment
Flexible approach ? being ready to handle a wide variety of ad-hoc requests
Proactive approach ? being able to use your own initiative
