| MARKETING MANAGER - West End Publishing House
Please only apply for this position if you are an experienced Marketing manager from the publishing sector. To provide a central service to the your assigned Publishers to ensure that all subscriptions are promoted, fulfilled, distributed and renewed in the most efficient, cost effective and profitable way, appropriate to the particular publishing economics and objectives of each title and to the correct budgetary timetable. Key Circulation contact for Publishers Meet regularly with, and become the key contact for the Publisher between the MIS, Fulfilment, Customer service and Marketing departments. Customer communications Liase with MIS, Customer service and Fulfilment departments, the Publisher and the Head of Circulation to develop and monitor a complete customer communications strategy. Budgeting and forecasting Forecast circulation trends and plan budgets and strategies for the next financial year with the Publisher, and the Head of Circulation and formulate achievable goals. Cost any ideas and show return. Monitor performance against budget forecast and report to the Publisher and the Head of Circulation monthly as part of the circulation report. 4)Promotions Plan and implement individual promotional campaigns (as agreed with the Publisher), including list research, building and acquisition, creative (concept, design and copywriting), and monitoring and evaluation of results. List maintenance and development Brief, liase with, negotiate with and monitor in house MIS, Customer service and Fulfilment departments to ensure effective list maintenance and development to meet the above objective. Provide a weekly update of current promotions and any other relevant *****data to the Fulfilment and Customer Service Managers. Invite the Fulfilment Manager and Customer Service Manager to meet at the planning stage of future promotions, and get approval from the MIS Manager. Log all MIS requests through the MIS Team Leader and assist the Head of Circulation prioritise requests as necessary. Database development Provide feedback to the Head of Circulation on problems, needs and ideas to maintain and develop the database, including improvement of design, targeting, profiling and statistical analysis. Provide examples of ineffective deduplication programs and other ***** *****procedures to the MIS Manager. Distribution Liase with the Fulfilment department to ensure the most cost effectivemethod of despatch for both UK and O/S delivery. Monitoring competitor activity Monitor and report competitor circulation marketing activity to the Publisher and the Head of Circulation. Management information. Liase with the MIS and Fulfilment departments to access marketing data and provide a flow of timely up-to-date, thorough, useful and usable management information and reports which present, analyse and ***** *****interpret data for the Publisher and the Head of Circulation. These ***** *****should include standard format monthly reports, yearly marketing plans, ***** as well as evaluation and projection of results i.e. campaign reports, *****promotional response with front and back end profit and loss ***** *****analysis and subsequent conclusions and recommendations. Purchase of print, marketing services and supplies Ensure competitive quotations are obtained (wherever possible at least three quotes should be obtained), negotiate with suppliers and purchase the necessary print, marketing services and other supplies on behalf of the Publisher, subject to their approval. Ensure a stock check of all promotional literature and incentives is maintained. Exhibition Management Organise appropriate and effective exhibition presence, including stand *****design, stand management and all promotional and marketing activities, subject to prior agreement with the Publisher. Liase with telemarketing bureau Liase with the appointed telemarketing bureau on a day to day basis. Interface between MIS, Fulfilment and the bureau to ensure that telemarketing labels are run and sent to the bureau on schedule. Provide a comprehensive brief to the bureau for each project and ***** *****monitor and report to the Publisher and the Head of Circulation on results. Record keeping Maintain comprehensive promotional sample and results file. Ensure the Head of Circulation receives sample copies of all subscription cards, brochures, direct mail packs and other promotional material, together with results analysis for central filing. Marketing team contribution Keep the Head of Circulation informed of workload, progress and ***** *****priorities and any problems which affect the progress of work. Attend marketing team meetings and contribute to team goals and ***** *****projects, and assist the Head of Circulation as requested on group ***** *****matters. Share knowledge and data, and help to spread best practice amongst the team. Assist and act as the circulation contact for Publishers other than those whose titles are specifically assigned to you where possible, when their Marketing Manager/Executive is not available. Supervision Brief, train and supervise your Marketing Assistant to assist in the fulfilment of individual title objectives and provide cover in your absence. |
