PR Co-ordinator
Press Cuttings - Liasing with the cuttings agency, collation of cuttings and production of monthly reports.
Case Studies - To search/source willing clients to feature in the national newspapers, manage the small case-study spreadsheet, assist with the co-ordination of the interview and ensure that the client receives a token of appreciation i.e. Champagne.
Event Organising - Full co-ordination of the Awards (Oscars of the finance world) Duties from venue sourcing, invites, engaging the judges right through to the finalists prizes. There are often impromptu other “soiree’s” to be arranged throughout the year.
Reader’s Questions - Overseeing of the readers questions involves a systematic mailout to consultants to gain their expert advice, seeking compliance approval then returning our expert advice in its final copy back to the Magazine/Newspaper for publication.
PA to Head of PR - To provide full support to, taking on projects occasionally but mostly diary management, filing, and expenses, fulfilling preparation for meetings etc.
Team Co-ordinator - To provide full support to the 7 strong Press Officers/Managers, ordering stationary, IT trouble shooting, co-ordinating photographers, travel, hotels and lunches. Liaising with the PR agency to ensure all runs smoothly for the team. Taking phone calls/messages from journalists on a regular basis, fielding and prioritising their calls. Updating of press release website and company Intranet site.
Budgets - To maintain and update budgets on a monthly basis, produce forecasts quarterly throughout the year.
Invoices/Expenses - To complete invoice/expenses payment forms arrange authorisation and payment as well as maintain the expenditure spreadsheet to give clear breakdown of where monies have been spent.


Person Spec - Essential

Intermediate Excel, Word and PowerPoint - 40-45 wpm
Excellent telephone manner essential as is an ability to maintain confidentiality - Experience of handling difficult or sensitive phone calls an advantage.
Must be confident communicating on all levels as will have almost daily face to face contact with Board members.
Applicants must be both proactive and extremely organised with the ability to juggle many tasks simultaneously and to deadline.
Self-starter who can work well on their own without supervision and who can pre-empt the department’s needs
Good standard of writing skills and a good grasp of numbers/budgets

Experience required

The client is looking for someone with a good administration background in PR, secretarial experience would be an advantage, but essentially someone who is willing to work hard and is looking for a career in PR. This is initially an admistration role with a view to taking on more and more PR responsibilities as the applicant develops.

Salary £18,000 - 23,000 according to level of experience
Hours 8.30am - 5.30pm - Must be flexible as PR is not a 9 to 5 environment
